All I want you to do is stuff a 6MT, EcoBoost 3.5 and an AWD diff in this body and you won't do it. So poo on you.

Heck I'd just be happy with the 2.0T and the 6MT and FWD. Since that power train combo is already available in the Focus ST shouldn't be too hard.

Build it and they will come (probably all over it).

There's gotta be a tuning house that could do something about this. Arrrgggh we're so close it's driving me nuts!

because Ford sucks

Ford Fusion ST? I think yes.
(GT could work just as well)

I know people who can do this, but your warranty will spontaneously combust

I would totally buy that.

EcoBoost 3.5? You think too small sir, this needs nothing less than the 5.0L V8 given the EcoBoost treatment, paired with a manual and then RWD. Because if it's worth doing, it's worth over doing.

So, this?

But with 4 doors and a back seat that fits more than just todlers and double amputees.

But with a manual swap?

Now we're talking!

There is a precedent:

Concur. 3.5L V6 would make it even more understeer prone.
Maybe the 2.3L Ecoboost?

My guess is 'cause it would cut into the sales of the Taurus SHO, although even those do not have a manual for 2014 according to the Ford website (paddle shifter).
I'll be honest. After driving the fleet Tauruses (Taurii?) we have at work I feel the Fusion is a much better value. And good grief I DESPISE the programming in the auto transmissions — "Oh. You want me to downshift? Lemme think about that....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................ok, but only ONE gear down."

on 3.5 EB, one gear down is plenty. The low RPM torque on it is very admirable.
The SHO has paddle shifters starting in '10, but they are rather worthless, I hear the only place they come in handy is on an auto-x track.
For the me the SHO was a better value than the Fusion. Because twin-turbo.

If only the 2.0 EB were offered with a manual, there is quite a bit of power to be had with downpipes, tune, etc.

On the Ecoboost yeah, but I'm talking the N/A version of the 3.5 as far as needing more than a one gear downshift.
An EB 3.5 in a Fusion would be like shooting yourself in the foot if you were Ford....As much as I would prefer it.

Yeah, supposedly the next Taurus will be a lengthened Fusion platform. Who knows if we'll still get the 3.5EB or even an SHO for that matter. Perhaps the new 2.7EB will go in it? I'd be happy with that.
